Full-HD renders from the Metal PathTracer project, converted from EXR to JPG for preview.
These new sequences confirm firefly-free convergence and stable multi-bounce reflection following the implementation of sample energy clamping in the core integrator.
Each set explores conductor BRDF behavior under HDR environment lighting, using measured η/k parameters and GGX microfacet sampling with full Fresnel evaluation and energy conservation:
-
Hygieia study — Steel / Glass / Gold: dielectric vs conductor evaluation under uniform lighting.
-
Hygieia variant — Steel / Silver / Copper: spectral tinting and grazing-incidence reflectance validation.
-
Ajax bust I — Iron / Copper / Gold: high-frequency geometry test for BRDF normalization and highlight stability.
-
Ajax bust II — Iron / Silver / Copper: roughness compensation and spectral reflectance consistency across alloys.
All renders were computed on Apple Silicon with MIS and environment importance sampling enabled.
